Old people are cool.

So, back from my most recent 15-day journey across the Western US. Seattle --> Salt Lake City --> Los Angeles.

In EB's bullet point, very efficient style:

1. Met a Lord. For serious. An older gentleman traveler had these cards that read, "Lord of Burton Hastings." During WWII, he did something so cool for the United Kingdom that they gave him a title. The Greatest Generation indeed.

2. Drove the "Mc" into the ground.

3. Met a passenger who "hated" our gourmet food on the train, so ate a diet consisting of mostly ice cream and fried chicken. Would be dubbed "The Ice Cream Man," "nuts," or "Creepy McSkeeverton" by those who came in contact with him. Also had suspiciously fake looking hair.

4. Made quite a few hundees in tips.

5. Drove "Simmer Down" into the ground.

6. Learned how to survive with another person in a room with a total of 3 cubic feet available.

7. Saw a very amazing lightning storm on one side of the train and a beautiful sunset on the other (all while watching What Women Want in crew).

8. Came home to 3 rejection letters. Boo! They were all "good," but still super annoying.

9. Got a free ticket to anywhere in the continental US. I love you oversold airlines!!!

How's your summer going?
