I get paid to watch cartoons.

So, temping simply gets weirder and weirder. I have really moved away from actually doing anything that could remotely be described as work over the past three weeks. Previous to this week, I worked for an executive who already had 1) assistant and 2) was in Cannes. Why was I even there? To print out copious amounts of my manuscript, that's why.

Today was my first of two days at Cartoon Network Studios. My day basically consisted of:

1. A full tour of the facilities meeting people who I will not need to know after tomorrow at 6PM. (However, meeting the voice of Spongebob was pretty flippin' sweet)
2. A trip to Starbucks (I didn't have to pay!)
3. Moving my car
4. Filing a few things
5. 1.5 hour lunch in beautiful downtown Burbank
6. Watching cartoons for at least 2 hours and picking out what would be the best "still" or "screen capture" from that episode all while completely mooching off of the sweet selection of snacks and treats they have.
7. Leaving early

What else have I been up to? Finishing my last student tour of the season and preparing to say goodbye to Nick who will be moving to Atlanta next week.

Watch ER this Thursday.

Not because you get to see Shane West, but because you will possibly get to view myself and James Renfroe. So, set your VCR's or Tivo's or internal clocks for NBC at 10:00PM this Thursday and keep your eyes peeled. If you are looking for me, the best chance to see me will be when Abbie (Maura Tierney) turns by the elevators. I am wearing a denim jacket and walk through the background.

BTW, since James and I had some extra time on set, we had some time to develop a back story. We decided that we were at County General to "take care of a problem." See if you can recognize the motivation and nuances in our performances. Emmy committee, are you watching?

How is it May already?

So, I've been on the road again, but not before a visit from Erin, which was very cool, even if we didn't really do anything...of course, free margaritas from a Catholic Carnival on a Sunday night was kind of a highlight.

The "training" was cool and I have a new appreciation for:
1. Beds that do not move in the middle of the night.
2. Showers that I can turn around in.
3. Water pressure.

One thing I do have to mention, however, when you get up in the morning and walk out to have breakfast and the Pacific Coast is literally a stone's throw away while you eat your French toast, you know the day can't turn out all bad.

Free with every visit to the Left Coast...Nubbins will act as your personal space heater.

Don't we clean up nice?
